Stocks You Wanted To See
For quite some time I have been providing stocks that subscribers to this channel have asked to see each Tuesday. However, after much contemplation I have determined that this series might actually be shortchanging subscribers. Consequently, I decided to try something different, and hopefully better for the subscriber.
From now on, I will not be entertaining requests from subscribers on individual stocks. Instead, I will be asking subscribers to request investing topics that they are interested in or possibly confused about. As a result, I believe my long experience as a stock analyst, portfolio manager, and stock research provider can serve subscribers to this channel better by sticking to important investment principles.
In closing, although I have enjoyed doing this series, it has also been difficult and even unwieldy at times. The biggest problem is that I was often asked to cover stocks that I would never cover of my own volition. At first I found this quite valuable because it allowed me to provide subscribers insights into what they should not do. One of my best lessons was taught by a gentleman who served the financial planning community. He offered this nugget of wisdom that I took to heart: “the definition of an excellent investment advisor, is one who has the courage and the integrity to insist that their clients do as they ought to do, rather than as they want to do.” Therefore, in the spirit of that wisdom, I have decided to alter subscriber request Tuesday to focus more on prudent behavior and sound investing practices.
